THE Audi A6 Avant – Audi-speak for estate car – has always been a sophisticated and elegant machine.
But this latest model – a productionised concept – is on another scale.
Rather like its battery range: up to 435 miles. Or its capacity to recharge in just 10 mins with nearly 200 miles of range thanks to its 270kW charging capacity. And 800 volt charging technology.
What’s more, it’s terrific to see electrification to something other than an SUV.
Audi Board Member for Technical Development, Oliver Hoffmann, commented:
With the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept, we are offering a completely tangible look at future production models. We’re not just electrifying the Avant’s successful 45-year history. What we want most of all is to use technical skills to add an exclamation point. In particular, this includes powerful 800-volt technology, 270 kW of charging capacity, and a WLTP range of up to 435 miles.
While the vehicle we can see here is a concept, Audi hints that it’s pretty close to the real thing calling it a production oriented A6 Avant e-tron.
If the actual car rolls off the production line looking anything like this, then it will undoubtedly be an absolute winner.
