DRIVEELECTRIC, an electric vehicle (EV) leasing specialist, has expanded the benefits of its salary sacrifice scheme for EDF’s small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) business customers.
In addition to the offer of a Pod Point home charger, EDF business customers can now benefit from a lower cost electricity tariff, along with 5,000 miles of ‘free’ electricity
The Pod Point 7kW Solo 3 home charger can be wrapped into the sacrifice offer from £14 per month, including standard installation, based on a 40% taxpayer (after sacrifice) on a 36-month agreement.
Drivers also get access to Pod Point’s Exclusive EV tariff powered by EDF, which has an off-peak rate of 8.49p per kilowatt hour between the hours of midnight and 5am.
The 5,000 miles of ‘free’ electricity, which equates to £129.29 including VAT, is credited to the driver’s account one calendar month after taking delivery of their electric car.
EDF business customers can search, select and order an EV entirely online – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – and businesses can control and oversee salary sacrifice electric vehicle leases using DriveElectric’s My Live EVs.
DriveElectric also has dedicated consultants to advise about electric cars, supported by tax and compliance specialists, and an on-call team to answer any questions. It will also assist organisations to promote salary sacrifice schemes to employees, and can organise EV test drive events.
Cost reductions offered by salary sacrifice compared to a personal lease for an employee include a £206 monthly saving on a new MG4 SE, or a £210 monthly saving on a new Kia Niro 2 Nav, for a 40% taxpayer, according to DriveElectric.
Salary sacrifice schemes continue to grow in popularity. They were up 68% year-on-year (YOY) in quarter three 2023, according to the latest BVRLA Leasing Outlook report, reaching 61,937 cars, and the industry body is forecasting further rapid growth this year.
