Say hello to…
…the all-electric version of the new Porsche Macan in 4S guise which means it has 516hp and all-wheel drive and sits in the middle of the Macan range. In dimensions terms, it’s a rival to the likes of BMW’s iX3 and Audi’s Q6 etron. However, the Porsche Macan is much more driver-focussed and sits a level above, in terms of prestige.
Standard equipment on the 4S includes a 95kWh battery, 20-inch alloys, LED headlights, powered front seats, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, heat pump, twin-zone climate control, cruise control, active suspension and 40:20:40 split-fold rear seats.

Is The Porsche Macan Suitable For My Fleet
Porsche has ticked all the right boxes for fleet with the Macan Electric. It has a decent 95kWh usable capacity battery, a heat pump is standard and charging speeds are brilliant at 270kW maximum, which represents best-in-class. What’s more the boot is an impressive 540 litres, plus there’s a very handy, 84 litre, front boot for charging cables. All this makes for a very capable long distance electric car. And on top of all this, you get the inherent desirability of the Porsche brand which should translate to strong residual values. However, in our test car we suffered a few electronic issues. On two occasions the car failed to charge (once at home and once at a Porsche dealership). And on one motorway journey the cruise control refused to engage, claiming there was a problem with the driver’s seatbelt not being done up; it was done up and there was no separate warning for that.

Leasing A Porsche Macan
Gateway2lease is offering the Macan Electric for a very respectable £1,014 a month on a 3+36 contract with 10,000 miles a year. Gensen Report forecasts maintenance costs of £46 a month, while Class 1A NIC comes in at £41 a month.

Driving A Porsche Macan
We know from our drive last yeat that the standard car is already very good, but the 4S moves things on meaningfully. The extra power, now 516hp rather than 360hp, is immediately noticeable. Acceleration is stronger and more effortless, particularly at motorway speeds.
More significant, though, is what the all-wheel drive does for the way it drives. The Macan was already composed, but here it feels more planted and more secure, particularly in the damp. There’s greater traction when you lean on it out of corners and a sharper sense of control through faster bends. The steering retains that trademark Porsche weighting and response, giving you confidence to place the car accurately, while body control is excellent for something of this weight.
Yet what continues to stand out isn’t just how good it is to drive, but how easy it is to live with.
In a segment where rivals increasingly bury basic functions in layers of touchscreen menus, the Macan still feels refreshingly intuitive. You get in and immediately understand it. Adjusting drive modes, cabin temperature or driver assistance settings is straightforward and quick, with physical controls where you want them and an infotainment system that responds logically.
That usability matters. It makes the Macan feel less like a piece of technology you have to learn, and more like a car you simply use.
Efficiency does take a hit compared with the entry-level version. We saw 2.6 miles per kWh with the 4S in mixed driving, which translates to a real-world range of around 244 miles from the 95kWh battery. That’s still perfectly usable, but it underlines the trade-off for the extra performance and grip.
Refinement remains good rather than exceptional. There’s still some road noise at motorway speeds, likely exacerbated by larger wheel options, though it never becomes overly intrusive.
The result is a car that builds on an already strong foundation. The 4S adds the performance and dynamic polish you’d expect, but crucially doesn’t lose the simplicity that makes the Macan so easy to live with day to day.
That combination – genuine driver appeal with real-world usability – is what sets it apart.

If you don’t need the range of the ‘entry’ Macan the 4S is still a phenomenal business car.
