Say hello to…
…the Peugeot e5008 an all-electric, seven-seat, SUV with an official range of 310 miles in the 73kWh battery version (tested here) or 414 miles in the 97kWh battery long range version. The e5008 can be had with front- or all-wheel drive.
Peugeot offers the e5008 in two trim levels:
- Allure
- GT
Standard equipment on the Allure trim includes three-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, rear parking sensors, reversing camera with wash, 21-inch infotainment and driver’s display, drive modes, 19-inch alloys, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and 3x USB sockets.
GT specification adds adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, front parking sensors, powered tailgate, heated front seats, 20-inch alloys and LED lights.
Is The Peugeot e5008 Suitable For My Fleet
There’s a lot to like about the e5008 from an ‘on paper’ fleet perspective. Seven seats is still rare in the world of electric cars and the e5008 does it well with plenty of room for five adults and a bonus two seats at the back for kids. The max charge speed isn’t bad either at 160kW. It’s not class leading, but it’s easily good enough for shorter charging stops on longer journeys.
In seven-seat mode the boot’s not bad either at 348 litres. The rear-most seats can be folded away easily too.
Leasing A Peugeot e5008
Gateway2lease is offering the Peugeot e5008 on a 9+36 contract with 10,000 miles a year for £568 a month while Gensen Reports forecasts maintenance at £29 a month with NIC coming in at £21 per month.
Driving A Peugeot e5008
Peugeot’s engineers have judged and setup the e5008’s suspension very well for a seven-seat SUV. The Peugeot’s ride comfort is good, the car copes with potholes well at town speeds and the suspension doesn’t bang over uneven surfaces. However, it’s not the softest riding car in its class, but that means it copes well with twistier roads. Without actually feeling sporty, the bodyroll is well controlled.
On the motorway the e5008 is impressively settled and refined.
The brakes and regen inspires confidence in the car, although there’s not one-pedal driving option.
If there’s anything that lets the driving experience down it’s Peugeot’s iCockpit dashboard design that positions the steering wheel below the driver’s display. For some sizes of drivers it works well, but for taller people it’s not quite as well lain out as it could be. The wide A-pillars can also block vision – particularly approaching roundabouts.
The position of the steering wheel may not be ideal, but the rest of the interior design, styling and materials are praiseworthy. The overall look and feel is one of a premium car.
