Is The BMW i4 Suitable For My Fleet
Thanks to the large battery with a 80.7kWh useable capacity, the i4 has a real-world range of more than 280 miles in mild weather conditions and with minimal effort in terms of eco driving. That’s not only a very useful range, but also one that lays any range anxiety to rest. And if you do need to charge while on route, the max charge speed for the BMW i4 is a whopping 200kW (assuming you can find a charger that will deliver that speed).
The i4 also has room for five and a 470-litre boot, which seals its suitability as a fleet vehicle.
Leasing A BMW i4
Intelligent Car Leasing is offering the BMW i4 in eDrive40 M Sport spec for £801 a month on a 3+36 contract including 20,000 miles a year. Where the savings come in is with the ultra-low BIK band which also means the Class 1A NIC is just £10 a month. Maintenance is a reasonable £61.22 a month too, according to Gensen Reports.
Driving A BMW i4
With the i4, BMW has joined the growing number of brands that are removing as many buttons as possible in favour of the clean simple look of a large touchscreen to control most of the vehicle’s functions. And it works wonderfully. The clean, high-class, of the cabin is impressive as are the materials used.
The clarity of the screens together with their swift response to touch inputs is impressive, even if the logic to the menu system takes a little while to get used to – it’s not as simple as the previous iDrive menu.
Cleverly BMW has managed to keep the driving position low – where rivals have had to raise the seat to accommodate the battery pack – this immediately gives the car a sporty feel.
Drive the i4 and that feeling is enhanced, but not at the expence of all comfort. The EV is incredibly easy to live with. The fact that it’s also quick and good fun when you want it to be is just at its core.
The way the car turns, goes, stops and rides have been set up so that refinement is first rate, yet the insulation from the outside world doesn’t come as a sacrifice to the feedback for how the car is behaving.
It’s equally at home on the school run, motorway or b-road. Which makes it a near ideal user-chooser vehicle.
