The MG 4 has proved to be a hit with both existing and new customers since it arrived in September last year – and it is also hugely encouraging that so many expert reviewers hold the same opinion as well.

Proving that electric cars don’t have to be expensive or compromised, the MG 4 has been crowned 2023 UK Car of the Year.
Value was clearly at the heart of the judging panel’s decision as the Dacia Jogger picked up second place and Toyota’s GR86 picked up third – thanks to offering an outstanding driving experience for a far lower price than its rivals in the Best Coupe sub-category.
The MG 4 drew praise for offering an affordable, practical and dynamically impressive package in the ultra-competitive family car segment.
The judging panel, which includes FleetandLeasing.com’s own contributing editor Tristan Young, were also impressed by the all-electric MG 4’s range and efficiency.
“When a car comes along that’s better than its rivals in terms of style and substance and is significantly less expensive, it’s no surprise it does well with buyers. The MG 4 is just that car. What’s more, MG has shown that just because a car is all-electric, it doesn’t mean it has to be priced significantly higher than a liquid-fuelled rival,” said Young.
Receiving the winner’s trophy from UK Car of the Year director John Challen, Guy Pigounakis, MG UK’s commercial director, was thrilled with the victory: “The MG 4 has proved to be a hit with both existing and new customers since it arrived in September last year – and it is also hugely encouraging that so many expert reviewers hold the same opinion as well. We’d like to thank everyone at UK Car of the Year for this award – this is a significant achievement for MG.”
