SME fleets that decided to visit the CV Show 2025 can breathe a bit easier. And that’s because fleet technology specialist Lightfoot has offset the carbon emissions of every one of the 13,000 attendees at Birmingham’s NEC in April.
At the three-day event, Lightfoot installed interactive carbon footprint calculators that allowed visitors to input their journey details, including distance travelled and vehicle type. From this data, Lightfoot calculated an average of 17.7 kg of CO₂ per person totalling more than 230 tonnes of carbon emissions across the show.
In partnership with global reforestation initiative Evertreen, Lightfoot has funded the planting of nearly 300 trees in Madagascar. According to Lightfoot, this fully offsetts the emissions generated by the visitors travelling to the show.
Decarbonisation is the ambition of nearly every commercial vehicle fleet operator we speak to. We support fleets through electrification, improved driving efficiency and offsetting. Working with the CV Show organisers demonstrates how collaborative efforts can lead the commercial vehicle sector toward a Net Zero future.
Paul Hollick, CEO of Lightfoot
Nick Davison, Event Director at the CV Show, echoed the sentiment: “Our partnership with Lightfoot reinforces our commitment to sustainability not just for the event, but across the industry. Next year’s CV Show will focus even more heavily on decarbonisation and smart solutions to help fleets limit their environmental impact.”
