MARTIN Gurney, a hugely experienced fleet and leasing professional, has been appointed Head of European Fleet And Business at Polester.
Gurney joins from the PSA Group – now called Stellantis following its merger with FCA Group – where he has most recently been Director of Fleet and Used Vehicles for the last five years.
Polestar is a new brand that’s eight months old, offering business users attractive electric vehicles to rival Tesla.
Growing List Of Fleet Customers
Polestar says that after eight months following launch it has a growing base of customers, with high interest from fleet customers in its Polestar 2 vehicle. The Swedish electric performance brand wants to raise its presence in the fleet sector, and Gurney is charged with developing corporate and SME fleet sales within European markets, includng the UK.
Polestar’s Global Head of Sales, Mike Whittington said:
“During 2020 we focused on establishing our Fleet & Business infrastructure and launching Polestar 2. With a significant level of demand and momentum building, during 2021 we will focus even more intensely and demonstrate the importance of fleet sales to Polestar. I am delighted that Martin is joining us to strengthen the team, which will expand even further across Europe. With his considerable experience we will continue to build our fleet presence during the coming years.”
Polestar was formed in 2017 by Volvo Cars and Geely Holding to establish a premium performance electric brand.
