FIRST deliveries of the Lucid Air have taken place in Europe, with customers in Germany and the Netherlands getting their hands on the all-electric saloon with a huge 516 miles driving range.
A rival for Tesla’s Model S, there are three different specifications available for UK customers, including a long-range, high performance model.
The headline driving range comes from the Lucid Air Grand Touring. With up to 1,050hp, it’s no slouch either, as Lucid boasts “Relentless range. Supercar speed. Lavish luxury.”
Twin motors produce more than a thousand horsepower, enabling a 0-60mph time of 2.6 seconds.
More important for many business owners and CEOs, however, will be the 500+ mile range. And to boost its continent-crossing credentials, charging will take just 12 minutes to add 200 miles on the fastest high-power chargers.
This charging system is available for all Lucid Air models, not just the flagship Grand Touring. Even the Pure and Touring models get the same set-up, and still offer a considerable range of up to 410 miles and 425 miles respectively
The Air Touring uses twin electric motors for 620hp, while the entry-level Pure has a single motor set-up, but still produces 480hp.
As with all pure-electric models, company car tax is at the lowest rate of just 2%, offering significant savings for drivers, while electric cars also offer plenty of tax benefits for businesses and SME fleets.
The Lucid Air was shown at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with expectations the US-built car will be here by summer 2023.
