EBBON Group, a provider of digital platforms to the fleet industry, has expanded its footprint in the driver licence compliance sector with the purchase of Glasgow-based DriverCheck to sit alongside the company’s Licence Check brand.
The combined DriverCheck and Licence Check have more than 3,500 customers responsible for half a million vehicles, and perform more than 1.1 million licence checks a year, says Ebbon.
Although coming under the Ebbon Group banner, Glasgow-based DriverCheck will continue to be operated as a stand-alone company, with a separate team and brand. There will however be investment in the newly acquired business, promises the new owners.
While Licence Check offers customers a self-service product, DriverCheck provides a managed service, which includes paperless driver license checking from the DVLA’s web portal, allowing access to driving licence information from the UK and abroad, CPC and tachograph data.
Robert Pilkington, Ebbon Group director, said:
We have acquired DriverCheck to grow our fleet market compliance capability, but will continue to operate Licence Check and DriverCheck as separate, stand-alone brands with their own individual identities. We will invest heavily on both with the latest technology to enhance the customer offering.
