Say hello to…
…the KGM Torres, the family SUV, which sits between the brand’s medium-sized SUV Korando and seven-seat Rexton. It’s built on a new platform and available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine or as the fully electric EVX.
There are two trim levels:
- K30
- K40
The K30 features front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, and a heated steering wheel, as well as a raft of safety technology, including driver attention alert, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic warning.
Step up to the K40, which is available as a front wheel drive or all-wheel drive version (for an extra £2,000), and you get adaptive cruise control, Tom Tom navigation, a wireless phone charger, and heated and ventilated front seats. The K30’s 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels are upgraded to 19-inch.

Is The KGM Torres Suitable For My Fleet
The Torres has a huge 703-litre boot with the rear seats in place β significantly more than rivals like the Ford Kuga (482 litres), Skoda Karoq (521 litres), Nissan X-Trail (585 litres), and Hyundai Tucson (620 litres).
Itβs also great for towing, with a 1,500kg braked towing capacity, and 500kg for an unbraked trailer.
However, the Torres’ emissions puts it in a high benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax band and fuel economy is a disappointing 33.2 combined mpg on paper. We averaged 31.2mpg during our test on a mix of urban and rural journeys.

Gateway2Lease is offering the KGM Torres K40 on a 9+36 lease for £453 a month with 10,000 miles a year. Gensen Reports predicts maintenance costs of £44 a month and Class 1A NIC payments of £125 a month.
Driving A KGM Torres
The interior of the KGM Torres is dominated by a wide dashboard which features two screens β a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen in the centre and another 12.3-inch driver display behind the steering wheel. Aside from that, the interior has a minimalist look with bronze trim.
You sit high up in the Torres, with a commanding view of the road. In the K40 trim we tested you also benefit from a 360-degree camera to aid parking and manoeuvring.
The front wheel drive version we tested was a little slow to accelerate and change gear, with a 0-62mph time of 10.8 seconds. The steering is vague when cornering and we would have preferred a smoother ride. The electric version, likely due to the increased battery weight, feels a little more planted.
