THE number of battery electric vehicles (EVs) sold in the UK is expected to double in 2022, according to green motoring consultancy New AutoMotive. Having analysed market trends, predictions of future demand, public policy changes, carmakers’ production plans and EV commitments, New AutoMotive estimates that approximately 300,000 new electric vehicles could be sold in the UK this year, accounting for 15 percent of market share.
